This Catholic Schools Week we want to highlight an alum who considers working in a Catholic school community her dream job check out Rachel (O'Connor) Dengler, 2010 graduate's published blog, https://www.partnershipnyc.org/principals-zeal-in-cleveland/

Calamity Days Update: LCC has used its 5th calamity day. Moving forward, if we cancel anymore days students will be expected to attend classes remotely, meaning they will not come to campus but will log into their email or Google classroom for posted assignments. Assignments will be posted by 10:00am on the day of the cancellation. It is the students responsibility to complete all assignments and meet deadlines as though they were in class. By going remote on βsnow days,β we will not be forced to make up days later in the school year.

Last week, the National Honor Society members made cards for healthcare workers to thank them for their service during the COVID-19 crisis. NHS president Nicole Patricio-Agosto and vice-president Lauren Chaney helped collect the cards, which were delivered to Lima Memorial.

Happy Catholic Schools Week 2021! Take a look at the focus for each day and stay tuned for updates on how the Thunderbirds celebrate throughout the week! @SchoolChoiceWeek #CSW21

Congratulations to senior Emma DeLong on being named LCC's 2021 Poetry Out Loud champion! This is Emma's second year winning the school competition, and she will advance to the regional competition in Findlay. Other competitors were freshmen Billy Bourk and Carson Caprella. Like everything this year, our competition looked a bit different, with the audience and judges joining virtually. Special thanks to Fred Arzola and Jacob King from Rhodes State College and Holly Norton from UNOH for judging our competition.

The new walk up window got a facelift! Please utilize this window to drop or pick items up throughout the school day.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-related restrictions on large gatherings at schools by the Governor's Office, Ohio Department of Health and Allen County Public Health, LCC's annual Night at the Races fundraiser scheduled for February 6th has been postponed to a date TBD hopefully later in 2021. We appreciate the continued support of our community for our Athletic and Band programs. Donations can be made at https://lcchs.causesuite.com/product/giving/

We're hiring! LCC is now accepting applications for a part-time Event Planning and Alumni Relations Coordinator to work in conjunction with the Advancement Office. Resumes may be sent to knocera@apps.lcchs.edu. Learn more about the opportunity here: https://5il.co/oaiz
