Mrs. Jessica Gronas, Director of Guidance at Lima Central Catholic High School, and her therapy dog, Hope, have been quietly making a difference on campus since 2019. In a busy, noisy world, Hope offers students and staff calm, comfort, and connection; no talking required.
Recently, Mrs. Gronas led a training for school counselors across the state, sharing her presentation Therapy Dogs: Four-Legged Friends Silently Supporting Students in Schools. She walked fellow counselors through the process of training and certifying a therapy dog, gaining administrative buy-in, and using therapy dogs to support student and staff well-being. The unexpected connections (and the smiles) make it all worth it.

Mrs. Thompson's Advanced Geometry class finished their quadrilateral presentations. Each group chose a unique way to help their classmates review for the Ch. 6 test. They played Connect 4 for rectangles, Don't get kicked out of the Rhombus, Claw Machine for the squares, Bingo for Trapezoids and Kites, and Jeopardy for polygon formulas.

Congratulations to Mataya Miller on placing 4th at the Northwest Bowling Tournament this past weekend! Teammates Piper Schumm and Sophia Joseph also earned top-10 finishes, helping the ladies secure 2nd place overall. 🎳👏

Congrats to seniors Jacob Raczynski (#1) and Dante Turney (#2) for getting the 2 highest scores on the 3rd Catholic Math league contest of the year. We have one more Catholic Math League contest in March. Who will be the overall winner???
Today LCC sent 4 performances to St. Marys for OMEA solo and ensemble. All soloists earned the highest rating of Superior (1). Congratulations Billy Salyers III, Madelyn Jefferson, and Ta'Kyra Ingram!
LCC's Brass Quintet was the only T-bird ensemble who received the Excellent (2) rating. Congratulations Addison Fay, Kaitlyn Carroll, Eli Burris, and Billy Salyers on a wonderful performance!
