Hello, my name is Pat Shanahan and I am the newest member of the Institutional Development Office here at LCC.

I grew up in Pandora, Ohio and after graduation, I went to Miami University where I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration. I worked various jobs in sales, retail, insurance, and the public sector before getting married and settling in Lima. I became an honorary T-Bird when our two sons began school, first at St. Rose and then on to LCC. During those years I could be found helping out at St. Rose Parish and St. Rose School and eventually became the principal at St. Rose School. I left that position after 8 years to take care of my aging parents.

I am excited that I have recently found my way back to working in our Catholic Schools. My work here at LCC includes the processing and acknowledgement of donations, maintaining the donor database, and assisting with development, alumni, foundation and athletic fundraising events.

I look forward to seeing you at our LCC functions!

Hi! My name is Emily Miller, I was raised and graduated from Fort Jennings High School in 2002. I attended Bowling Green State University and majored in Journalism specializing in Public Relations, graduating in 2006. I worked for close to 10 years at a small print shop in customer relations and graphics. In 2010, I married my best friend, Josh; we have two active little boys who keep us very busy.

I started at LCC at the beginning of 2019 and have loved getting to know everyone. I enjoy working for a school that faith encompasses all aspects of learning. In the office I design and help with written content, including mailings, programs for events and the LCC Today. I also assist and coordinate fundraising and development events. I look forward to getting to know everyone more and am proud to now be a T-Bird!

Since coming on board as the Director of Community Engagement for the LCC Educational Foundation, I’ve learned quite a bit about the difference between development and fundraising. Some are inclined to equate the two, but, in reality, the latter flows from the former.

Over the past year, I’ve traveled quite a bit around the southern part of the country to meet a number of our nearly 9,000 LCC alums and friends. When back home in my office, I like to take time weekly to do some research in the school archives. When I share the photos, films and videos from years past with alums who live around the country, and, for that matter, the world, I receive emails and phone calls from many of them telling me how many fond memories were evoked. This is development; creating an emotional bond between the school and the many who have passed through our portals. My hope is to strengthen those connections in the years ahead. Please stop to visit your alma mater! We’d love to see you!
