LCC alumna, Jocelyn Morrisey '20, recently graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. During her time at Ohio State, Morrisey was a member of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) and has represented The Ohio State University and US Navy in numerous regional leadership programs, Naval training courses and endurance competitions while maintaining top honors in her academics.
Morrisey not only focused on academic excellence, but also physical readiness by finishing her NROTC career with a streak of nine perfect PFA (Physical Fitness Assessment) scores. At the recent NROTC year-end award ceremony, Morrisey received the Woodrow (Woody) Hayes Leadership Award, the USAA National Scholarship, as well as the Iron-Woman Athletic Excellence recognition.
Morrisey, the daughter of Amy and Jim Morrisey of Lima, became a commissioned officer into the US Navy on May 4 as an O-1 Ensign and will report to flight school in Pensacola, FL in the Fall.
Congratulations to Billy Bourk and Emily Morrisey for receiving The Bishop’s Cross. This is the highest honor bestowed upon graduating seniors in the Diocese of Toledo. Students are required to be fully initiated and practicing Catholics. The students who are selected to receive the Bishop’s Cross have undergone a multi-layered selection process and are individuals who clearly strive to love God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength.
