Students In Action

Students in Action (SIA) is a service club open to all students. The group holds a monthly meeting in addition to many opportunities for service to others.

Students in Action is the high school division of the Jefferson Awards Foundation. Lima Central Catholic was selected by the Jefferson Awards Foundation as one of the Toledo Region’s 2015-2016 Bronze Banner recipients for Outstanding Service by a High School. This recognition honors all that our students have done to inspire a renewed enthusiasm for charity, community service and teamwork for both our school and the greater Toledo Region. The Foundation provides students with tools, training and ideas to encourage service in our communities and to develop community leadership skills.

LCC’s Student in Action Club is responsible for supporting the action-oriented volunteer culture at LCC and submitting the many service opportunities at LCC for recognition through the Jefferson Awards. Some of the more recent service activities coordinated by SIA include making and selling T-Bird Shakers at football games, knitting scarves for the homeless and hosting several bake sales. The profits from these activities were donated to various organizations including Family Promise, the Wounded Warrior Project and local churches.

The Students in Action meet monthly on the second Tuesday morning of each month at 7:30 in the library.
