Speech & Debate

The Lima Central Catholic Speech Team has been in existence for four years. During competitions consist of nine different Speech categories: Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Impromptu, Original Oratory, Oratorical Interpretation, Prose Poetry, Domestic Extemporaneous, and International Extemporaneous. There are also four different types of Debate: Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas, 2-Person, and Four-Person, in addition to Student Congress.

Our students only participate in the speech events, not the debate events.

Students use talents similar to those seen in a play or performance, but then add in other techniques to perfect their speaking style.

This year, our students participated in Dramatic, Humorous, Duo, Impromptu, Original Oratory, Oratorical Interpretation, and Prose Poetry.
