Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year at LCC! I am excited to return to LCC for my second year as a T-Bird!! However, I will be taking maternity leave for approximately the first six weeks of school. Mr. Andrew Blankemeyer will be teaching my math classes during that time. I graduated from Allen East High School and Bowling Green State University (dual certification in math and English). I then taught for six years before taking time off to be a stay-at-home mom. Now, I am in my second year at LCC teaching Algebra 2 and Geometry, and I am also teaching Journalism this year. My husband and I live in Lafayette with our two boys, Jacob (7) and Joshua (almost 3). By the time school starts, our daughter, Emily, will have arrived as well. Jacob is in 2nd grade at Allen East this year, but he roots for "Mom's team" in addition to the Mustangs. In addition to teaching the curriculum of my classes, I am very focused on enhancing the spiritual growth of my students. As a teacher in a Christian school, I am honored to serve the Lord in fostering my students' walk with Christ. My focus Scripture for this year is from the 24th chapter of Joshua: "Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness...choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve...But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." Students and parents, please feel free to contact me via email at any time at jthaxton@lcchs.edu.
