Service and Outreach

Lima Central Catholic participates in helping our those in need by reaching out to them. We hold many events and volunteer in our local community and in the world. Here are a list of projects we participated in the 2005-2006 school year.

 

  • As a school, we collected toys for the Toys for Tots organization
  • As a school, we collected our old coats for the Salvation Army
  • As a school, we collected old phone books for the Adult Literacy Council
  • As a school and with help from the local community, for Hurricane Katrina Victims:
    • We collected over 200 packages water bottles
    • We held collections for donations to the Catholic Relief Services organization
    • We assisted in the relocation of a family from New Orleans to Lima
  •  In the Catholic community, we collected pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Toledo (2004-2005)
    • We collected 1,396,614 tabs between Catholic schools in Lima and Delphos for their food costs
  • In the Catholic community, we collected pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Columbus (2005-2006)
  • We collected 991,047 tabs between the Catholic schools in Lima and Delphos for  their electric bill
  • Fair Trade Coffee Sales
    • Around $100.00 raised and donated to help end unfair trade and human rights violations in the coffee industries as well as other industries.
  • As a school, we collected sweaters and sweatshirts for children in Romania
  • As a class, Mrs. Bronder’s students collected and donated money to Safe Harbor of Lima
  • As a class, Mr. Brinkman’s students wrote valentines to veterans
  • As a school, a canned food drive for St. Vincent de Paul Society
  • Our students volunteer at/for:
    •  The Habitat for Humanity
    • The Humane Society 
    • Big Bothers and Big Sisters
    • Beverly Healthcare 
    • The St. Rose Children’s Center
    • The Trinity United Methodist Church Childcare Center
    • The Head Start program at LACCA
    •  The LifeTeen Office
    • West Middle School for student tutoring
