Meeting Minutes – Monday, November 16, 2010
Members Present: Mitch Black, Marianne Bradshaw, Dean Brinkman, Tim Dee, Sharon Frankart, Sheryl Huffman, Tom Judy, Martha Kahle, Richard Mitterholzer, Linda Pajka, Lisa Rigg, Danette Swick, and Deb Tremoulis.
I. Call to Order and Prayer – President, Marianne Bradshaw called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m. Marianne gave history of ABC, reviewed calendar, and discussed upcoming events.

IV. Martha Kahle discussed how funds are spent on students, training, teacher wish lists, textbooks, etc.
V. Dean Brinkman, our Dean of Academics was our guest speaker. He presented a Powerpoint presentation which included LCC's academics, artistic, and athletics programs. He discussed the ODE flex credit, 60 hours of student service, 4 years of required theology, and college on campus of which we have 10 courses (generally/usually a C or better is acceptable for most colleges to earn credit). Ohio Northern University provides Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and Calculus. Lourdes College provides English 11 and English 12. Rhodes State provides Medical Terminology, Physiology, Anatomy, Psychology, and Sociology. LCC provides 4 AP classes: US History, Biology, European History, and Chemistry (generally/usually a score of a 3,4,or 5 is accepted at most colleges).
Dean also discussed the following LCC programs available for improved study: Accommodation Plans (approximately 20 students involved), Academic Assist, Resource Center (learning proper study habits), and Study Tables (NHS students staff). The Laws of Life essay entry was offered to seniors only this year. Parents of graduated LCC students commented on how beneficial and surprised they were, to find out how many LCC college classes transferred to their child's college of choice. Many freshman college students were just shy of sophomore status when they started college. This leaves options open to study abroad, dual major, obtain a masters degree, co-op, or simply graduate early. A huge cost/time savings is available.
VI. Adjournment – Adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Danette Swick, Secretary
