PROGRESS - *Funding

Macy's Shop for a Cause - ABC earned $785 from the sale of discount coupons on October 16.  The Happy Daz dine out program has earned $161.84 to date this school year. Thanks for your LCC dedication and support!

*New AP Chemistry Class

With funding through the  Academic Boosters, an additional AP class has been added to our curriculum this year.  This past summer, Mr. Rufener successfully completed a 4 day (8 hour per day) workshop at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.  LCC now offers four AP courses: Biology, Chemistry, European History, and United States History.

*ACT Prep Class A Success

The Academic Booster Club and the faculty offered its 2nd ACT prep class.  This is an 8 week class with 3 hours per week.  This course totals 24 hours of rotating subject instruction and testing, in preparation of an upcoming ACT test date.  Twenty two students are currently enrolled in the review class.  We are thrilled to report that our pilot program last winter, showed a 2 point increase in overall score.  Provided the student interest continues, we plan on offering another class starting late January 2011, which will be timed in conjunction with the April 9, ACT test date.  Contact Dean Brinkman, LCC Dean of Academics, at dbrinkman@lcchs.edu for further information, registration, and fees.

*Religion Textbooks

The Toledo Diocese revised the high school religion curriculum which necessitated the purchase of new religion textbooks for grades 9-12.  Through your donations, the Academic Boosters raised funds for 111 sets of books.  Donation/memory stickers were personalized and placed in each book. Thanks for your contributions!
